Fitness Logistics, the I.A.R.T.'s Testing & Performance Center

Journal of Applied Fitness

"Before I became a student of the I.A.R.T. I already had other educations in my life, i.e., a sport physiotherapist and several massage educations. All were poor to moderate in quality. So I am quite critical when it comes to education, but I was enthusiastic about the I.A.R.T. from the first book I received (and have never been let down since). Their courses differ from every other education and school I experienced in all essential points. The most important thing for me is the competitive edge I got by doing the I.A.R.T. courses." Markus Baumann

One purpose of the I.A.R.T. is to conduct in-house research in the area of exercise performance and excellence, to determine optimum methods of training for purposes of rehabilitation, physique enhancement, and athletic conditioning. At times we also develop reviews on testing and assessment equipment utilized by our clinic. This is done at our facility, Fitness Logistics, headed by Director of Operations, Brian D. Johnston. Findings then are integrated in our learning materials, to help our students and instructors keep abreast of current fitness developments and appropriate in-field equipment. Below are some of our reports, with more to be developed.

*The I.A.R.T.'s exercise facility, Prescribed Exercise (tm), which hosts the Fitness Logistics Testing and Performance department, is a recognized age-friendly facility, the first national, age-appropriate fitness and wellness program. This initiative brings together older adults, physicians, and health and wellness facilities that excel in serving the older adult market.

The goals of this program are as follows:

  • To increase older adult participation in physical activity.
  • To provide greater assurance to older adults that a facility meets age-appropriate standards.
  • To enhance the credibility of participating organizations with older adults, their families and their physicians.
  • To give participating AAFP family physicians a locator of ICAA age-friendly fitness and wellness facilities.
  • To increase the number of family physician referrals to participating organizations.

This initiative was created as part of a relationship between the International Council on Active Aging™ (ICAA) and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). To learn more about listing your facility, please review the information at The International Council on Active Aging or call toll-free at 866-335-9777.
