I.A.R.T. Personal TrainerCertification
Application
I.A.R.T. Personal
Trainer Certification Exclusivity: We limit the number of I.A.R.T. personal trainers
in each geographic location, at a ratio of 1 per 100,000 population.
For example, a city with a population of 1 million would have
a maximum of 10 independent I.A.R.T. personal trainers and/or
facilities. Each facility may have more than 1 personal trainer,
but no more than 10 independent business-driven personal trainers
will exist in that city. This certification restriction helps
to protect and support our instructors' practicing territories,
and to provide investment enhancement value. Reserve your
territory today!
Due to the high standards of the I.A.R.T.,
and our organization's efforts in working with only elite and
serious personal trainers within a clinical setting, potential
students who wish to undertake either of our certification processes
first must complete this application questionnaire. We do not
want to waste your time and money, nor our time with misdirected
and short-lived motivation. We limit the number of registered
applicants to 12 personal trainers monthly. Copy and paste
this form into an e-mail, answering each question honestly for
our review; elaborate and provide answers beyond a simply 'yes'
or 'no'. Thank you.
1. Are you aware that you only have 8 to
12 months to complete either Level I or the Master certification
respectively before being penalized financially for late exam
submission ($150 US fee for additional six months working time),
and after that time your file will be closed and full certification
fees reinstated to continue?
2. Are you aware that both certifications
require hands-on application, of at least one client for (a minimum
3-month) case study application together with a rigorous videotaped
practical, and are you confident that you can obtain a motivated
client in which to demonstrate your expertise?
3. As per number 2, are you aware that
our certifications require extensive videotape footage and some
basic exercise equipment in which to demonstrate your ability
to communicate lifting skills? Will your local gym allow videotape
filming, and if not, do you at least have a set of free weights
and a bench in order to complete this requirement?
4. Are you aware that you must re-attempt
any answers or aspects to exam questions/concerns that we report
and that do not meet our standards (including video taped demonstrations),
and that you must continue doing so until we are satisfied with
your ability and competency? (No additional fees required if
completed within the time constraints; we will do our utmost
to help you achieve this goal.)
5. Are you prepared to undertake the most
intense and demanding certification offered within the industry,
realizing that you may need to spend an average of 1-2 hours
per day studying and applying your knowledge over the duration
of several months? Will your current lifestyle and obligations
allow you to devote the energy necessary to be an elite Fitness
Clinician (tm) with the I.A.R.T.?
6. Are you willing to proceed through our
certification process with an active mind, setting aside beliefs/assumptions
and logically deducing valid exercise and nutrition application
based on experimentation and evidential data?
7. Will you be able to apply and sustain
the I.A.R.T. Standards of Professional Conduct and Practice once
certified, such as obtaining liability insurance, providing full
client confidentiality, and incorporating case study application
in the workplace?
8. Are you aware that all students, who
move on to be active instructors in the fitness field and upon
submission of their materials, also are to register with the
Fitness Standards Council (www.fitnessstandards.org)? There is
no fee to belong to the FSC since the I.A.R.T. has made arrangements
with the FSC in this regard (we cover your costs). Completion
of the FSC registration must transpire within 30 days of receiving
your certification approval. Your official certificate will be
forwarded once you are accredited to our standards and those
of the FSC.
Please provide your name, address,
and telephone number upon submission.
If you believe you are not prepared and able to complete our
certification process, we recommend you first purchase the relative
materials and study in advance.
