Phase
Shift Dieting. According to Dr. Mauro DiPasquale, most
diets are monotone, in that they endorse high protein, high carb,
low carb, high fat, etc. However, the human body is used to changes
in the diet, or phases, which supports the metabolic and hormonal
reasons for altering protein, fat and carb intake in phases,
so that each is predominant at different times.
Understanding
or Random Luck? What
really is the catalyst for making progress in training? Often
we are fooled by coincidences, randomness and luck rather than
a true understanding. What we think is a reason may be nothing
more than 'background noise,' whereas the true signals may not
be so clear.
Ahead
by a Neck. A look at neck training, its value, the research
of optimizing neck strength, and even how to test neck strength
relative to normative values.

at, with opinions from within the industry and the situation
in Puerto Rico.
Method Madness. What
is a method, and what constitutes a method in exercise? This
article delves into the foundation of a proper method - one that
is flexible yet specific in its course or direction, and the
problems associated with the gambit of 'systems' currently in
the fitness industry.
Food Digestion and Absorption. What
happens to carbs, fats, and proteins when consumed? Well, a number
of things can happen, depending on the amount ingested and your
current body's status. This 3-part article series investigates
the possibilities.

scrutiny is Pavel's recommendations regarding strength development
and the claims made about training to fatigue, frequency, rep
ranges, irradiation, etc. in his book Power to the People.

Panic Disorder. The straight scoop from a long-time exercise
enthusiast, GAD can affect anyone at any time. This fitness professionals
explains what he did to take control, mentally and physically.

and mystical discipline that lacks scientific integrity.

Does a person's frame of reference matter when it comes to making
gains in strength and muscle? It certainly does, and this article
explores how it is possible for a person to make actual change
in brain circuitry, which then affects body functioning. Parallels
then are made as to how a person can make a training program
more effective by how he or she thinks.
Quickness and Agility Q&A. How do athletes become fast? Well,
it certainly is not through explosive strength training as many

coach answers all your questions on the subject.

Critical State of Change. When there is change in society, in
fads or in any physical aspect of one's health or function, it
is the result of some kind of 'tipping point,' whereby a catalyst
with enough force causes that change. This is evident in every
aspect of human existence, as it is with training. Stick to your
standardized program and you will never experience that critical
state of change.
Kettlebell Training. Kettlebells
are good exercise tools, if used properly. However, a lot of
the hoopla is nothing more than cheesy marketing, and this tool
often cannot do what the 'Russian Secrets' suggest. This article

and why traditional kettlebells actually reduce your explosiveness
because of their design.

Although the I.A.R.T. was the only representation that showed
