To
be successful physically, you have to be successful mentally.
Mind Into Muscle is the first video developed for
strength training, and which discusses the methodology of optimizing
physical training by harnessing the mental aspects. As if partaking
in a workshop, you will learn about the role of relaxation, confidence,
and visualization. The DVD also includes imagery training and
mental tracking procedures at six key and distinct times:
1. The day prior to a workout.
2. Hours prior to a workout.
3. Minutes/seconds before a set.
4. During a Set.
5. Immediately after a set.
6. After a workout.
Also included is an actual training session,
whereby the Director of Education and President of the IART instruct
sa trainee through mental imagery, to achieve optimum mental
control and clarity in a relaxed state, to improve muscle isolation,
form, and stimulation. This is followed by a set taken to muscular
fatigue, while integrating those same and other unique mental
training methods.
Your physical training is not optimized
until you take control and utilize the mind to its fullest capacity,
and this DVD will do exactly that. Order your copy today for
only ($19.95) approximately $15.95
US (depending on current exchange rate) + shipping.

Mind Into Muscle Review/Comments
by Chris Thomas
This is a very interesting subject
matter, and as stated on the DVD is an often neglected aspect
of most trainee's exercise regimen's.
Since receiving the DVD last
week I have enjoyed watching it through several times. The techniques
highlighted on the DVD take time and practice to master, so I
intend to watch it through several more times and make some advanced
notes to carry around with me.
The techniques presented on the
DVD are geared to induce a state of relaxation which facilitates
a heightened state of awareness and concentration. This then
helps the trainee use visualisation techniques (it's easier to
visualise when relaxed as opposed to being in a tense state)
to strengthen one's confidence and focus in order to achieve
better success in their actual workout's.
I have personally used visualisation,
"The Day Prior to Training" as per the DVD, before
watching the DVD at the recommendation of Brian during a phone
consultation several months ago and found it to work for me in
terms of relaxing my mind and helping me sleep better the night
before a workout. The other five phases I have not practiced
before and look forward to the rewards of disciplining myself
to this end.
Also on the DVD is training footage
of Rick McCutcheon, a Mr. Canada bodybuilding competitor, and
his insights into his own use of Sport Psychology in training
for competition. Not forgetting Brian Johnston, he demonstrates
some of the relaxation, breathing and visualisation techniques
immediately prior to and during a set on the MedX lumbar machine!
This part of the DVD justifies the title of the DVD more than
anything else as Brian takes you through the procedure which
helps with the mind/muscle link in order to really work the muscle
as opposed to just lifting the weights.
I find the most profound thing
about this subject matter is that the techniques on this DVD
could be used not only in the context of exercise, but with any
of life's challenges. Lack of confidence sabotages our ability
to achieve goals and anxiety can be at times monstrously intolerable
for some people. Perhaps a little modification would be neccessary
to accomodate varying situations, but the basic principle is
still the same. The flow chart shown on the DVD could be applied
to achieving success in anything:-
Relaxation
V
Heightened Calmness/ Awareness
V
Concentration
V
Visualization
V
Improved Confidence
V
Success
V
Achievement of Goals
Not only will I use the method
and techniques for my weight workouts, but also for my boxing
workouts and most importantly.............. life in general!
