TACTICAL FITNESS
Now available, this is one book you won't want to miss. In fact,
one of our long-time readers and instructors indicated "I
can honestly say it's one of the most important books I've read;
it's applications extend far beyond training and instills in
one an incredible sense of purpose that can be applied to any
area of life." And Dave Draper, Mr. Universe stated "This
is a serious book for those who are cocked and ready to fire,
yet need to zero in on their targets." Moreover, this book
has a bonus offer... a FREE 2-hour DVD with footage from the
Mr. Olympias ('65, '66, '68, and '80), among other events. You're
getting your money's worth on this one! Click here for more information.
ZONE TRAINING: JREPS EXPLODED VIEW
A few things about this up-coming book. One, the IART
Personal Trainer Certification guarantees it will be one
of the best reads you will ever encounter. As a bit of a taste,
you can download the Introduction by visiting this link. Also, at the same link, is a case
study form. If you want to be part of th is book, and you have
been JRepping as of late, we will require your submission by
the end of July... no exceptions.
BOWFLEX ULTIMATE 2 REVIEW
The IART Personal
Trainer Certification is very
happy with the Bowflex Ultimate, but now there is the Ultimate
2. Find out more about this great training machine; download
the PDF report by clicking
here.
MEDX NORMATIVE VALUES
Visit our MedX Course link, and there you
will find several downloads, including the latest that has all
the normative values for low back, thoracic spine, cervical spine,
and knee strength testing.
POSTER FRAMES
Most health clubs and gyms have posters hanging on their walls,
and so too does the IART
Personal Trainer Certification facility. Our preferred framing
company is http://www.flipupframes.com.
Do check out that site, since these frames are very interesting...
you attach them on the wall, and then to change the inside picture
or print, you simply flip open the frame on its retractable hinges,
take out the picture, news update page, banner, whatever, and
place in a new one. Very convenient.
MERCK MANUAL
Ask any doctor if he or she knows what the Merck Manual is, and
"of course" will be the answer. Published for several
decades, Merck has produced an encyclopedia on various topics
of disease, health and wellness. The 18th edition will release
any time, and in there you will find contributions from the Director
of Education and President of the IART
Personal Trainer Certification (Brian D. Johnston) on the
topics of exercise and injury rehabilitation. Many book stores
carry the Merck Manual, but it can be obtained by visiting http://www.merckbooks.com.
PURE PHYSIQUE
The IART Personal
Trainer Certification seems to attract the brightest of the
bright. Most certification companies have their elite people,
and they develop materials or testing for personal trainers.
The I.A.R.T., on the other hand, encourages participation of
its members and non-members. Dr. Kevin Vost wrote the book Full
Range of Motive; Chuck Rainey contributed to the I.A.R.T.
Ethics, Standards & Guidelines manual; Andrew Shortt
contributed to the JReps, JReps II, and Tactical Fitness books (and will be working
on his own book in the near future); and we have several instructors
and fitness enthusiasts who have contributed to Synergy over
the years. And now, one of our instructors, Mike Lipowski, has
written Pure Physique. This book integrates and supports I.A.R.T.
philosophy, but also includes practical experience through Mr.
Lipowski's training over the years. Pure Physique is available
through Amazon.com or on Mr. Lipowski's site at http://www.purephysique.com.
